 Quassy Introduces Kids Club11/24/2006
MIDDLEBURY, Conn. - Children 12 and under can get the inside scoop on park events and take part in special projects and contests by joining the newly-established “Quassy Kids Club,” Quassy Amusement Park announced today. Membership to the electronic club is free by joining at www.quassy.com. “Youngsters are very computer savvy, and this new club will be fun as well as educational,” said Eric Anderson, a Quassy co-owner. Administered entirely by the park, the “Quassy Kids Club” is one of a number of new additions and updates created on the park’s Web site as the facility gears up for its 99th year in 2007. “The kids’ club concept was something we had considered for awhile since our core market is pre-teens,” Anderson noted. “It’s really an extension of our ever-growing educational programs and will allow children to interact with the park online.” Club members can participate in contests, coloring projects and other activities and will receive special offers through the park. Children may click on the “Quassy Kids Club” icon on the Quassy Home Page and register for their free membership. An adult family member must approve enrollment. Other Site Updates Web surfers will also see a number of other updates on Quassy’s site, including a new page dedicated to “Saturation Station” at Quassy Beach. The interactive family play area, installed in 2003, features more than 30 ways to get drenched and has been highly successful. In 2006 Quassy added the dual “Tunnel Twister” waterslides at “Saturation Station,” bringing to four the number of slides at the waterpark. The Rides Page under the Attractions heading has also gone through an extensive makeover. Surfers not only see the list of rides in the park, but when they mouse over the ride titles photos of the attractions appear on the page. In addition, a map of Quassy Amusement Park may be called up from the Home Page as well as the Our Facility Page on the Catered Outings extension site. The newly added map is a PDF file so it can be easily printed by viewers. A 30-second video overview of the park has also been added to the Home Page. Quassy Amusement Park features more than two-dozen rides and attractions, redemption arcade, restaurant, beach, “Saturation Station” interactive water play area and entertainment.
