As the vibrant spring blooms usher in a new season, Quassy Amusement and Waterpark is gearing up for its much-anticipated opening weekend at the end of Aprol. However, this isn't just any typical opening weekend. It’s a time to honor and give back to the incredible communities that have supported us for over a century. Take part in our Quassy annual charity events and join us for a weekend of fun, philanthropy, and community spirit during our Quassy Cares Neighbors in Need Weekends!

Can’t make it on those dates? That’s okay, we have plenty of other opportunities to give back to our community.

Quassy Cares Neighbors in Need Weekends

Quassy Cares Neighbors in Need is a long-standing tradition for us. During our opening weekend festivities on April 27 and 28, as well as the following weekend on May 4 and 5, we invite you to participate in our charitable initiatives. Simply bring a non-perishable food item or a home cleaning product, and you can purchase an all-day ride wristband for only $17 (one donated item per person required for the discount). Park hours will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's our way of saying thank you to our supportive neighbors and kicking off the 2024 season with a spirit of generosity and camaraderie!

Campership: Empowering Children's Dreams

The Campership program is one of our most cherished annual funds we participate in. For more than three decades we have been a strong supporter of the Greater Waterbury Campership Fund, contributing over $100,000, alleviating the financial burden for families seeking to send their children to summer camp.

Recognizing the importance of providing enriching experiences for youth, we have recently taken a more active role in the program, joining the effort alongside esteemed local entities including Thomaston Savings Bank, Ion Bank, Post University, MacDermid International, the Waterbury Police Department PD, and the United Way. We aim to bolster the program's presence and impact within the community. Last year alone, the program allocated $125,000 and paid for over 300 children to attend summer camp from the Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Prospect, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, and Woodbury communities.

On April 28, guests can contribute to changing children's lives by purchasing tickets for Quassy. Tickets are priced at $35 per person or $100 for four, including parking and a special Campership 2-hour lunch featuring delicious options like hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken wings, side salad, and beverages. The day will also include Quassy rides and an exciting egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Every ticket sold directly supports sending a child to summer camp. Use the code CAMPERSHIP2024 to join us in this heartwarming cause.

Autism Awareness Night: June 19

It's estimated that about one in 54 children in the United States is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Partnering with a local organization to support children on the spectrum felt like a natural fit.

Mark your calendars for a special evening dedicated to Autism Awareness on June 19th at Quassy Amusement and Waterpark. Enjoy discounted park tickets for only $15 and free parking from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. This sensory-friendly, judgment-free night is hosted by Sun, Moon & Stars, Inc., and it's a wonderful opportunity to come together with the local community and friends for an evening of inclusion and understanding.

Quassy: A Pillar of Community Support

With 116 years of history and counting, Quassy Amusement and Waterpark is deeply rooted in the communities of Middlebury, Waterbury, and the surrounding areas. It's the unwavering support of our residents and seasonal visitors that fuels our passion for providing family-friendly entertainment and giving back to those in need.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the spirit of community, compassion, and fun at Quassy this season. Together, we can make a difference and create lasting memories for families while fostering a sense of togetherness and generosity in our beloved communities. Thank you for being a part of the Quassy family—we can't wait to see you at the park!
